The Da Nang International Fireworks Competition in 2011 with the theme of “The Shimmering Han River” over two nights the 29th and 30th of  April, is expected to have five teams attending from England, Korea, Italy, China, and a host Vietnamese team (Danang).

Up to this time, the City People's Committee and other Departments have promoted a fund mobilizing plan for the fireworks fund, increasing advertisement and widely introducing the competition through live broadcast on national and local television stations. Plans of building stages, bleachers for viewers, infrastructure and customs procedures as well as fire and explosion prevention are also being considered and evaluated.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Ba Thanh, Party central committee member - Party Secretary, emphasized that preparation for the funding, infrastructure investment, and equipment purchases as well as organizing professional teams with specific styles, safety and impressiveness must be truly professional for the success of the Competition. He requested that the departments and related companies push the funding campaign early and decisively to raise 70-100 billion VND for the fireworks fund. He also emphasized the well – organized task of printing Firework tickets and ensuring absolute safety, order and security, traffic and fire prevention.
